VIDEO: Filipino Transgender Woman Detained by Police After Using Female Toilet
A 28-year-old Filipino transgender woman, Gretchen Custodio Diez, was detained by police in Quezon City, Philippines Tuesday afternoon after a heated argument with mall personnel for using the female toilet. Gretchen did a Facebook live streaming of the exchange after she felt they ganged up on her. Diez was brought to the police station and was later released. Senator Risa Hontiveros posted a statement on Twitter saying that what happened was unacceptable and a discrimination against transgender people. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!
